Slightly further you can potter around Bakewell, or the Spa town of Buxton, renowned for its spring water, opera house and arts, jazz and opera festivals. Explore the cycling trails, with bike hire available on the Monsal Trail, the Tissington Trail and at the Derwent Reservoir.
This is a place for playing charades, talking, reading, laughing and connecting. My family's motives for heading to Summerlees are split along gender lines. The solitary female sees a weekend of antique and curio shops, country roads, nice walks and value-for-money cafes. The three males see one thing - the Bradman Museum at Bowral. We also visit Bundanoon, Fitzroy Falls, Robertson, Berrima and Moss Vale, all within an easy drive. Our affable host, Patty, tells us one family has stayed at Summerlees 11 times. The wood used for this building was hand-cut in 1855. 1765 Log Home This accommodation has a long-lasting history which is in fact even longer than the history of the USA. It is a great opportunity to take some travel back in time and see the history with your own eyes. Now, this cabin is a part of a working farm so you can enjoy some incredible activities there. If you have your own horse, you can take it with you as farm owners gladly accept your friend on their stay. Also, there is a store where you can buy some excellent fresh food produced locally. Just keep in mind that the place is surrounded by an electric fence. Quiet Cabin at Antietam Creek From first sight, it seems that Keedysville where this accommodation is situated just placed in the center of nothing. Nevertheless, there are lots of great things to see and to do. If you are one of the history buffs, you can enjoy a tour to Gettysburg that is only an hour away. If you want to enjoy some local nature, there is Harper's Ferry near there.

This beautiful wooden cabin is very comfy and warm. Also, there is a river right near the house and the atmosphere there is absolutely peaceful. Solomons town is not far from there so you can visit it to enjoy some great activities or rent a boat. Sugarbush Located in Oakland, this beautiful cabin is surrounded by wild greenery and situated right near the West Virginia border. If you want to have some great outdoor vacations, this place is a perfect option. Deep Creek is less than an hour away from there so you can have some cooling dip during your summer trip. If you are planning a winter trip, you should know that Sugarbush is surrounded by a bunch of ski resorts such as Wisp Ski Resort, Canaan Valley, and Timberline Ski Resort. Just keep in mind that it can be hard to get there during the winter months so make sure you have some equipment and a four-wheel vehicle. It is perfect for family trips as there is not only a river but a whole acre of surrounding land so you can enjoy local nature and some great activities. There is a private dock with a boat and three kayaks as well as two inner tubes. During your stay there, you can take a short trip to the historic town of Chestertown where you can visit some great restaurants and stroll through local markets.
